September blahs
Posted: Thu, 09/04/2008 - 9:36amHow about those Packers? The Brewers three-game losing streak to open the playoff run will give fans plenty to chew on in the closing month of the season.
Fortunately, the Cubs are also losing – as are most of the wild-card contenders, still leaving the Brewers in control of their own fate as the post-season approaches. The problem for fans is that the Brew Crew has a losing record against the Mets and Cubs, two of the three teams they could face in the NL playoffs, holding an edge only over the strong-armed Diamondbacks.
Meanwhile, Packers fans are on edge awaiting the 6 p.m. kickoff Monday vs. the dreaded Vikings. The Journal Sentinel has calculated the Packers may once again be the NFL’s youngest team – despite actually having only two new starters, Aaron Rodgers and Johnny Jolly.

Journal Sentinel: Brewers lose three to Mets
Cheesehead Sports

By Bob Vorwald and David Stoeffler
A love for sports and the media brought Bob Vorwald and David Stoeffler together nearly 35 years ago and it has kept them connected ever since. From humble beginnings producing a weekly radio show for WPRE in Prairie du Chien, Bob and David have gone on to careers in broadcast and print media, while always maintaining a passion for Wisconsin sports.Bob Vorwald is a Wisconsin native now living in exile in Chicago while serving as executive producer for sports at WGN-TV. He is a lifelong Packer and Badger fan who is still struggling to come to grips with the Brewers move to the National League and the resulting conflict with his beloved Chicago Cubs. David Stoeffler strayed from home to newspaper jobs in Nebraska, Iowa and other far-flung places, but has now returned to the fold, running a newspaper consulting business out of his home near Ferryville.
